Meeting with Nash

This meeting was mainly to discuss our vision and how we want Nash to portray it. We discussed the logistics and measures Latoya needs to put in place for production to run smoothly. The length of the script is very short for the 20 minutes that we have anticipated as it may just last 10-15 minutes. We looked at possible scenes that we can include or lengthen. We talked about locations and the different equipment that Latoya has booked from the technician’s office. We discussed improvisations we can do with the equipment. Nash has agreed to produce a shot list of the script from the camera operator’s perspective. We also discussed how the presenter will act, a mixture of narration and pieces to camera. Jo said that we could not film the conference as they have already hired an outside team to film which produces a problem as this is valuable footage that will improve the documentary. Latoya asked if we could take stills and put them in the documentary. She changed the script slightly so that the presenter would say that ‘we were unable to film but the main things I learnt was…’. Nash suggested that it was worth a try contacting the video company to ask for the footage, saying that it would be a part of a student project and accredit their work. We discussed the script scene by scene, talking about and implications that may occur and how we can get the best shots possible. We discussed reccies of locations and small errors in the script such as Alicia staring at the clock. There will be two locations that the presenter will be shot in.

Eliminating Problems

To lengthen the documentary we can include possible scenes with Anton and Alicia. We have not got an actor to play Selvin. We need to cut him out of the script. Catriona who was to play Detective Graham has pull out due to prior engagements. We need to find a replacement. We also need to find an actor to play Caroline. It is important to find this character by the end of this week the latest. Dion is not replying to Latoya’s emails, we need a better means of communication to set up an interview with him. We also discussed whether the dialogue in the script is just a guideline or actual correct. Actors are allowed to improvise.
