1.
Progress
so far
Latoya went that
through the progress that the team has made so far in meetings and tasks that
individuals were set. We had a lot of developments in the pre-production
process. We talked about contributors, locations, and costumes and looked at
the applicants on the Star Now website.
2.
Effort
towards project and steps forward
Research has now
been posted on the blog. Although it was slow at first we agreed that we would
set aside Wednesday for meetings. Thursdays are set aside for individual tasks
which include blogging and filming will be for Wednesdays, Thursdays and
Fridays. The team talked about logging their individual process in diaries.
3.
Setting
tasks for next week
Latoya set tasks
for next week. Adele must get some pictures of the locations, and hand in the
insurance liability form to the community centre that we have hired for late
March. She must also make a start on the audition script. Katie’s role this
week is to come up with questions for the survey for market research. Latoya
will continue to speak and work with the contributors. She must also print off
some of the research to show to Caroline, do a bit of research on counselling
and email Sue Heseltine to get her to show us some examples of student work so
we know what else we can include in our production portfolio. Everyone must
watch one documentary and write a couple notes on it, text each other the
documentary that they intend to watch so that two people do not watch the same
thing.
4.
Meeting
With Caroline
Latoya has
contacted Caroline updating her on our progress and asked questions about what
else we should include in the production portfolio. She has set up a meeting
with her for next Wednesday and had a brief discussion with her after our
lecture on Wednesday. She is pleased with our progress and organisation so far.
5. Any
other business
Latoya had a
phone call with Joe Jackson, a contributor in which she shed light on the
project and what she expected from him. Joe is available to film on a Wednesday
afternoon.
Questions involve:
His experience
with gangs
How he got into
his job
Are there any
particular memorable stories to talk about?
What methods
does he use when working with gangs?
In the meeting we
discussed the kind of questions that we would ask the contributors. Latoya also
got in contact with Catch 22, a worker called Lisa Gunn asked to meet us to
talk more about the project. Latoya also talked to Michael Brown who agreed to
film. The team talked about getting a counsellor or victim/ ex-gang member to
talk in our documentary. After thorough browsing on the applicants for the drama
segment, we have decided to cast actors in the beginning of March. We also
talked about the structure of the documentary in more depth and agreed that each
contributor will be given an individual set of questions. The narrator of the
documentary may be the lead actress or we will source another person.
